Well, got myself somewhat grounded now.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to Jim B for providing us with the opportunity of attending a very eye opening experience.
I know that I for one will never look at this trade in the same way as I have in the past.
His approach of teaching the trade as a science in easy to understand terms and then having each of us work with it in the equipment lab has made a believer of me.
More on that later.

I also wish to thank Tru Tech Tools for sponsoring the facilities, Bill Spohn from Testo for instrument support (and lunch) and Doug Lockhart (thanks, the t shirts are awesome).

This is only the beginning.
I have pics to sort as does Maineiac and Rick Hall and there are stories to tell.

It would be very much appreciated if all of the attendees would post their thoughts here.

Thanks,
Don

Thanks for kicking this thread off D - very much appreciate it. I also would like to echo my gratitude and express my appreciation to each and every individual that was involved in making this happen. I miss you guys being so close already. Sad

If we continue to hold annual symposiums at Jim's beautiful facility - please heed my expressed warning here - DO NOT EAT AT WENDY'S..... Mr. Green Honestly don't know if it was just a bug or the double with cheese - but my apologies to all of those that attended that I did not have the opportunity to meet. For those that I did have the fortune to meet and those of you that I had long conversations on the phone with - I'm blown away. Really kinda amazing how we all came together here, sort of in never - never land - and how genuine relationships, and bonds are forged from it. I feel very blessed to know each and every one of you talented craftsmen.

The shirts as Don said are awesome. Susan is already framing one for the wall - I fully expect to have a wall full of them before I move along to whatever the next step the Big Man has planned for me.

Also just wanted to say how thoroughly I enjoyed meeting Jim senior - JimB's dad - very special individual whom I deeply respect, the drive to Cleveland would have been worth it if I had only met him and had to turn around and drive back. Gotta also tell you guys here at the site - if you are considering an instrument or tool purchase, I really recommend you visit TRUTech Tools. Only one other individual that I personally know that offers the level of support and service that TRUTech does.

As Don said, we have some pictures, some stories and some other things to share with everyone that was unable to attend our First Symposium. I'll close by saying if you missed this opportunity - start planning for next year - you will not be disappointed.

Smooth ride really until you hit that big damned construction zone off 70 just outside Dayton. Today was 35mph all the way through. Haven't seen the road crews out on a Saturday - that late at least in a long, long time. I suspect they are just as eager to complete it as everyone that has to drive through there.

Haven't heard from Mike yet - he left a little earlier than scheduled in hopes of getting bumped into an earlier flight. Happy to see you made it as well.
